Certificates with the current operating systems
Current operating systems (MAC, WIN, Android...) usually already contain the required root certificate. This means that installation is usually not necessary when setting up the WLAN.
The setting "Use system certificates" - or similar - is sufficient.
14.10.2025 Change of RADIUS certificates
The server certificates for radius1.xd.uni-halle.de to radius4.xd.uni-halle.de have been renewed on a regular basis. This applies to all WLANs where a login is made with the "5-digit" (e.g. uni-halle, eduroam).
Since the beginning of 2025, all new certificates have been issued by the PKI service provider HARICA. For this reason, the new server certificates are now checked against the new root CA certificate HARICA TLS ECC Root CA 2021
Depending on the operating system and the current setting in the WLAN profile (SSID), confirmation of the updated server certificates may be necessary.
For Windows operating systems, for example, the certificate details can be displayed and compared with the data on site certificates.
If the connection to the WLAN no longer works...!?
If there are problems with logging on to the WLAN, the profile for the SSID "uni-halle" may have to be deleted and set up again.
If there are problems logging in to eduroam, all profiles for the SSID "eduroam" must be deleted. An up-to-date installation program for the respective operating system must be downloaded and installed via https://cat.eduroam.org .
